Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand a design choice, object, visual form or process. Send proposals through the Contact page; a clear angle matters more than a polished sales pitch.
What we are looking for
Pitch focused explanatory, comparative, historical or critical pieces within graphic design, objects, spaces and visual culture. A strong idea gives readers a specific question to consider and a useful way to look at it.
What to include
Tell us the proposed subject, central point, why it suits Bold Design Review and how you would support factual claims. Mention relevant experience only when it helps explain your approach; do not send a full draft unless requested.
Editorial fit
We favour precise, original writing that separates evidence from opinion and avoids unexplained jargon. We do not consider pitches built around undisclosed promotion or claims that a design is universally best.
How to send a pitch
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your working title, a short summary and any useful context. A submission is a proposal, not a promise of publication.
Design is a set of choices you can learn to read.
We look past the finished surface to ask what a design does, what it asks of its user and which alternatives were available.
